TRAVEL INFORMATION
We realize that the slumping economy and high gas prices may make travel difficult for many of our guests. We will do our best to provide information here that will guide you toward the best deals on flights and hotels we can find.
AIRPORT INFORMATION
There are several airports that are near Charleston, SC.
Charleston International Airport will most likely be your best, and most convenient, bet; however, you can sometimes find lower fare options at either Myrtle Beach Airport or the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport which are both about a 2 hour drive. Whether the fare savings and the opportunity to explore a bit of SC are worth the time and cost of gas to drive is up to you! It's always nice to have options!
ACCOMODATIONS
Hotels Near the Wedding
Charleston Harbor Resort at Patriot's Point
The ceremony and reception will be held at this location. UPDATE!! Ok, so the big promotion is no longer on the website as some of you have discovered. We now have a contract with the resort for a discounted rate of $159.00 per night on weeknights and weekends. In order to book call Jennifer Morrison or Tiffany Carillo at (843) 856-0028. Be sure to mention the Hose/Everhart Wedding. This is a convenient choice and very affordable rate considering the short distance to downtown and beaches.
Best Western at Patriot's Point
Appx $119 per night and still very convenient.
Days Inn at Patriot's Point
Appx $75 per night.
All Patriot's Point Hotels
Other Options
While the Patriot's Point area does have the convenient distance to the wedding site to offer, there are many other great places to stay in Charleston that we think you might enjoy.
Hampton Inn Mount Pleasant/Isle of Palms
This hotel was suggested by another guest and I think it is in a great location. Almost an exact halfway point between the beach at Isle of Palms and the wedding site for only $119 per night.
Holiday Inn at Folly Beach
From $171 per night. If you want to experience some laid-back Charleston Beach life you should think about staying here. Folly Beach is where the locals go to surf, hang out, and enoy the summer. This is about 15 minutes from downtown and about 20 from the wedding site. Plans are in the works for a shuttle to and from Folly Beach the night of the wedding.
Beach Houses and Condos
A great option to think about! Since our wedding is at the beginning of the busy summer season, most of these rentals are for a full week only but you might be able to find someone to cut you some slack (or make it a vacation and stay the week). This is a great way to cut costs, stay with people you know, and really get the most out of the experience. We suggest checking out the homes on Folly Beach. While Isle of Palms is a bit closer to the wedding site and the homes a bit newer, Folly is much more affordable and less "touristy".
Downtown
Wanting to stay downtown? If convenience to the downtown area is your bag then go for it! However, downtown hotels tend to be a little more expensive and Spoleto Festival will be going on that week so prices may be even more inflated.
